🇲🇽 UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Kavanagh this weekend in Mexico City, Mexico
The UFC heads to Mexico City this weekend for UFC Fight Night: Moreno vs Kavanagh, taking place this Saturday, February 28th, at Arena CDMX. Headlining the card is a flyweight matchup between former two-time champion Brandon Moreno (#6) and rising contender Lone’er Kavanagh, with Moreno looking to keep himself in the title picture and Kavanagh chasing the kind of breakout win that can change a career overnight.
Moreno, the first Mexican-born UFC champion, enters this one looking to bounce back after a loss to Tatsuro Taira in December and remind the division that he is still very much a factor at 125 pounds. Across from him is Kavanagh, a 26-year-old English prospect who accepted the fight after Almabayev withdrew, bringing a dangerous mix of confidence and finishing ability into his first UFC main event. If Moreno can extend the pace and force Kavanagh to work deep into the later rounds, his experience should start to show, but if Kavanagh can settle in early and land clean, he has the kind of power and confidence to make this a very live main event.
